Using the right tools for the job is a maxim any joiner would recognise and stand by, and it holds just as true for businesses. Business tools, combined with effective working practices, can make a huge difference. This is Smart Working.
Using tools to help your business is great, however unless they are used well they can actually have a detrimental effect costing you both time and money. Social media is the prime example of this. Using social media is easy (if you are happy wasting time), but using it well is a learned skill, and one which pays off when you get it right.
Whatever business tools you may be using (or not using), ultimately the benefits that you get will be measured in one or more of three ways:

- Increased income
- Improved service/product
Of course the poor use of business tools can have the opposite effect. Scary stuff.
